John S. Garcia



John S. Garcia is an Associate of Byrne, Benesch & Villarreal, P.C. 

 

Mr. Garcia was born and raised in Yuma, Arizona.  He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, earning a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and resource economics in 2000 and a juris doctorate degree in 2003. 

 

Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Mr. Garcia worked in a variety of capacities as a law student.  He served as a research assistant to renowned torts and remedies scholar Professor Dan B. Dobbs, volunteered at Legal Aid through the Pima County Volunteer Lawyer’s Program, and worked at Slutes, Sakrison & Hill, P.C., a law firm in Tucson, Arizona, as a law clerk in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, and insurance defense.

 

Since joining the firm, Mr. Garcia has focused his practice primarily in the area of general civil and commercial litigation.  Mr. Garcia also practices in the areas of business law, real estate law, civil appeals, contested trusts and estates, construction law, probate and trust administration, creditor’s rights and estate planning.

 

In furtherance of the firm’s commitment to the Yuma business community, Mr. Garcia has authored several articles in the Yuma Business Direct on topics such as secured transactions, contract formation, estate and business planning for sole proprietors, and understanding the stages of a lawsuit.  Mr. Garcia is also involved in community efforts to address growth management issues faced by Yuma County.
